A Winner!
74 members emailed their answers to the May quiz. A perfect score is not the aim; everyone who joins in the fun is entered into the drawing. The May quiz focused on multiple connections in Louisville, KY, the site of our 2024 annual convention. The quiz answers were:
A Louisville-based research study collected data from nearly 500 pairs of twins and their siblings. It is now working to reconnect with those participants to gather midlife data. The study is called the Louisville Twin Study.
The steeples on the grandstand at Churchill Downs in Louisville are a landmark of the Kentucky Derby. They are called the Twin Spires.
The Kentucky Derby is part of a series of three horse races in the United States. Altogether, the three are known as the Triple Crown.
This wooden roller coaster thrilled visitors at Louisville’s Kentucky Kingdom amusement park from 1998 to 2007. The ride, which was called the Twisted Twins was converted to a hybrid of wood and steel called the Stormcoaster.
The Comedy of Errors tells the story of two sets of identical twins who were accidentally separated at birth. It will be playing at a free festival in Louisville’s Central Park during the time of our annual convention. The play was written by a famous father of twins, William Shakespeare.
Winner of the gift card drawing was Joy Givens, South Hills of Pittsburgh MOMs (PA). Find the June quiz at the end of this email. Just click on the link and you’ll be able to answer quickly and easily on the pre-filled form!

They go by many names: Daddy. Papa. Father. They wear many hats: baseball, bike helmet…mentor, protector, provider, mechanic, lawn care expert. It’s a day to say thanks for it all. To all the dads, papas, and fathers: A belated Happy Father’s Day!
Board News
The board is working with our volunteers to deliver the services and benefits you enjoy from year to year as well as to develop new initiatives focused on support and connection. Here’s a few of our latest moves:
Zoom Into a Convention Workshop Without Leaving Home!
The question begins early in life:
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Discovering the answer can be difficult; sometimes it even changes year by year.
How can parents help? Ali Dunn is coming to our annual convention with some answers. She’ll help parents gain the tools and confidence to talk to their children about careers, and share practical tips for career development at every age and stage. Ali Dunn is an affiliate member of Multiples of America, the founder of Me Two Books, and the creator of several ecourses about career exploration. Most importantly, she is the chief mom officer of identical twins born at 28 weeks.
We’re hoping you’ll join in this convention workshop even if you can’t be with us in Louisville. There’s no charge. It’s Friday, July 26, 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM CST. Reserve your seat by Wednesday, July 24 at: https://multiplesofamerica.org/zoom-connects/
MOMs Mall
If you live within driving distance of the Louisville area, please drop by MOMs Mall on Friday evening, July 27, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. (and bring your family). It’s a fun shopping and networking event. Our Timeless Treasures silent auction will also be happening at that time. MOMs Mall is open to the public. Convention registration is not required. We’d love to see you there!

The Member of the Year is chosen by your club. It’s a chance to honor a member who has made a big difference for your club in the last year. Each club can submit the names of up to two members. Members of the Year will be announced at convention, plus recognized in an upcoming issue of Multiple Connections and on our social media. Twin Research
RU in touch with a twin? If you have adult twins or are in contact with some, we’re asking that you pass along information about the research study, RUaTwin. We are assisting Rebecca Betjemann from Regis University in Denver, CO, with finding participants for the study. Participants will complete an online study which will take about 15-25 minutes. The survey asks for perspectives on a wide range of topics including personality, religion, altruism, empathy, and politics. Respondents may respond “prefer not to answer” if a question probes an area about which they would rather not share their opinion. Read more about the study at: https://multiplesofamerica.org/ruatwin_research.

Local Club Celebrations
Permian Basin Moms of Multiples (AZ) met in May to celebrate Mother’s Day with a brunch, complete with a special gift bag. They also started a monthly “Testimonial Tuesday” post on their social media which features quotes from members about how the club has supported them.
Northwest Houston Mothers of Multiples (TX) chilled out with a moms’ pool night in June. Then to heat things back up, some gathered for their monthly book club to discuss the scorching, hot romance The Idea of You.
Congrats to Upstate Parents of Multiples (SC): They recently marked their club’s 60th anniversary with a fun gathering filled with “kid-free conversation.”
