National Reps and other club leaders, we want to give you tools to help your families as well as your local club. This month we feature Handling School Issues, a new, informative presentation from Multiples of America.
Handling School Issues is based on our Club Tips Sheet on Handling School Issues and on our popular booklet, Education of Multiple Birth Children: A Guide for Educators. We developed the presentation to help parents of multiples navigate a variety of issues and decisions related to school.
The presentation focuses on young children in elementary school. However, the information can help parents of any age multiples, particularly when you’re facing a problem, such as bullying, or making an important decision, such as placing your kids in separate classrooms for the first time.
In the presentation, you’ll find this helpful information and more:
The presentation also includes Multiples of America’s seven Guidelines for the Education of Multiple Birth Children. These guidelines were developed through a blend of research, literature review and personal experience. They address seven key areas that parents should consider to ensure the best possible education settings for their multiples. Topics covered in these guidelines include: the multiple bond, classroom placement, parent involvement, considerations when retention is recommended, and more.
There are a variety of ways you can use the Handling School Issues presentation. Here are just a few ideas:
The presentation is available with or without narration. Both versions are linked below and housed in the Members Only Center under Brochures & Booklets. You also can access our toolkit on the Education of Multiple Birth Children, as well as summaries of organizational research specific to education.
