TITLE OF STUDY: Parental Perspective on the Psychosocial Adjustment of their Twin Children Separating in School

INVESTIGATOR: Mackenzie Liotta, a doctoral candidate

DISSERTATION CHAIR: Dr. Abbré McClain, Psy.D, LCPC

PARTICIPANTS NEEDED: The study will include parents of same-sex twins who are currently enrolled in grades 2 through 12. Either a single parent or both parents can participate in the study.

Subsequent impacts will be examined, including adjustment of each twin to separate classrooms, changes in mutual attachment, and broader socioemotional effects observed during the early school years. This approach is grounded in phenomenological research, where participants lived experienced are essential in constructing a rich, textual, thematic understanding of a phenomena.

METHOD OF INVESTIGATION: One-on-one online interview of parents of twins lived experience.
