BOARD NEWS
The board continues to work with our volunteers to offer our customary benefits and develop new initiatives. Here’s the latest news about a few things that have been keeping us busy in the last month:

• Gift and Give Multiplied is our annual fundraising campaign. This year’s campaign, running Nov. 15-29, aims to raise $2,000. Supporters can elect to target their donations toward specific areas, or offer a general donation. Added to that, an anonymous donor has agreed to match all donations up to our $2,000. goal. So when you give, your gift is truly multiplied!

• Zoom Connect is the name of our new online events aimed at connecting members across the country. Our first connect will be a special event for the entire family! A holiday gathering for all, it will be held at a special time, Sunday, December 18, 3 p.m. CST. There will be some cookie decorating, stories, and a visit from a special holiday guest. Gather with fellow club members, or grab your kids, grandkids, family pets….basically whoever fits in the room and join in the fun! • Our Parliamentarian is sending out a reminder that the deadline for any proposed bylaw or standing rule amendment is Dec. 15. Please reach out to the Parliamentarian prior to the deadline if assistance is needed.
 
HAVE YOU SEEN IT?
Taryn and Anson Kreleler, from Temecula Valley Moms of Multiples (CA), sat down for an interview with our Communication and Marketing Vice President, Claudia Contreras. Taryn and Anson talked about their multiples’ time in the NICU and about how their local club has been a support for their parenting journey. The interview is playing daily on each of our Facebook pages; scroll down to see the post from September 30.
 
MARK YOUR CALENDAR
Nov. 7-13 is International Multiple Birth Awareness Week: “Zygosity & Chorionicity Matter”. The week is meant to raise awareness around identical vs. fraternal twins, higher order multiples, and the importance of determining chorionicity early in the pregnancy. (Don’t know what “chorionicity” means? I admit I had to google it. Chorionicity is the number of placentas in a multiple pregnancy.)
  
LOCAL CLUBS LEADING THE WAY

Des Moines Mothers of Multiples (IA) plans a Friendsgiving in place of their November club meeting. The event includes a feast with the club providing roasted chicken for the main dish and members signing up to bring side dishes and dessert. The sign-up sheet ensures the feast doesn’t come with multiple pumpkin pies or “more green bean casseroles than we know what to do with.” Once all are seated with plates piled high, each member is asked to share something about the club for which they are thankful.

DuPage Doubles (IL) holds an annual Trunk or Treat and chili cook-off event! Many member families join in the fun by designing trunks and dressing up in family-themed costumes! A special hint from the club: They hold this event early in the month so it doesn’t get in the way of other holiday activities on their members’ calendars.

Greater Orlando Mothers of Twins and Triplets (FL) has a monthly book club. Each month one club member gets to select the book to read. Members have selected all types of genres – romance, comedy, mystery, and others. The club then helps members connect with a free digital copy of the book, if they wish. The book of the month for October is Verity by Colleen Hoover.
