MAY 2025

A bit of news about things happening with Multiples of America. Check out the quiz at the end for your chance to win a gift card!

A Winner!
46 members emailed their answers to the April quiz. A perfect score is not the aim; everyone who joins in the fun is entered into the drawing. The April quiz focused on facts about our theme for Multiple Birth Awareness month. The quiz answers were:

Mothers of multiple births have 43% greater odds of having moderate-to-severe postpartum depression compared with mothers of singletons.

Families with multiples have an increased rate of separation, and in families with triplets, there’s a 50% divorce rate.

After giving birth, 78% of parents of multiples reported feeling isolated during those first months at home.

“When you’re raising multiples, giving each child what they need doesn’t mean everything’s the same,” according to Smadar Zmirin, twin specialist.

Nancy Segal says, “I think the most important thing that any new parents of twins can do is join a parents of twins club. There you will find help, information, support, all the things that you need.

Winner of the gift card drawing was Nicole Wyatt, Chester County MOMC (PA). Find the May quiz at the end of this email. Just click on the link and you’ll be able to answer quickly and easily on the pre-filled form!

Join us Wednesday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m. Central (8:30 Eastern, 6:30 Mountain, 5:30 Pacific). Have You Submitted Your Application?
The EDGE Committee is ready to distribute our first EDGE Endowment Fund Grant. Your club can participate by sharing the dream of a local project that will support community outreach and help you grow your club….one member at a time. The grant will provide your club with up to $500 to complete that project over the next twelve months. Just check out the attached flyer or log into the Member’s Only section to find information on how to apply. The Committee will announce the winning club at this year’s annual meeting. They could be calling out your club’s name! Deadline for applications is May 31. Find all the details here.

A special store just opened up! No, it’s not a neighborhood ice cream shop (although that sounds yummy). It’s the Multiples of America swag store! Our store is stocked with items celebrating Multiples of America and our upcoming convention. We have t-shirts and a fashion-plus tote bag! Each item has it’s own special purchase page and URL, but we’ve compiled them together so you can see everything in stock…check out the item you should never leave home without. Note: The store closes June 10, so don’t delay, do your window shopping and make your purchases today!

Convention News
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…time to register for convention! This year we will be “Two-Steppin’ 2 Tucson” July 24-26 at the Omni National Resort in Tucson, AZ.

Did you know the convention schedule is filled with opportunities for fun and connection? We’re planning a day trip to Sabino Canyon and the Mini-Time Machine Museum of Miniatures, a poolside welcome event, a morning chat with the President, an evening of bingo, and a rousing game of Multiples Feud. I hope you are planning to join us!

The link to learn more about all of the fun, learning, and business events at convention is on our homepage: www.multiplesofamerica.org. You’ll also find registration details there, and you can check out the amazing convention brochure put together by our Events Team! The deadline to register without incurring a late fee is June 10.

Special Thanks
Thanks go out to the Mountain States Mothers of Adult Multiples (AZ), and Phoenix Valley Mothers of Multiples (AZ) for their offers to assist with convention by hosting an event.

In Search of National Worker Volunteers…
Give kindness. Share your expertise. Support new clubs. Share resources with parents of multiples facing special challenges. Start lifelong friendships with parents across the nation. Be a part of our story. It might change your life, too! Become a National Worker volunteer.

The deadline for volunteer forms for next term is June 15. But no need to wait until summer. Complete your form today. Convention attendance is not required to become a National Worker volunteer.

Member of the Year Awards
Does your club have a couple of members who have gone above and beyond organizing, helping, connecting…over the past year? One way to say thanks: Nominate them for our Member of the Year award. The Member of the Year is chosen by your club. It’s a chance to honor a member who has made a big difference for your club in the last year. Each club can nominate up to two members. The members and club do not need to be present at convention in order to be recognized. Members of the Year will also be recognized in an upcoming issue of Multiple Connections and on our social media. June 30 is the deadline for nominations. Submit your nomination today.

Is Your Club On Track to be Called ELITE?
ELITE can be defined as: First Rate, The Best, Special, Crème de la Crème. All clubs who renew their membership by June 30 are awarded the title of ELITE, and receive special recognition on social media, at convention, and on our website.

To be honored as an ELITE club, just go to this link, select the ELITE Status button and follow instructions: https://multiplesofamerica.org/dues-renewal/

NOTE: If your club collects dues later in the year, you can renew with as few as four members, then register the others as “add-on” members once your membership drive is complete (no later than September 30.) New members should also be added to your club’s membership roles year-round by submitting them as “add-on” members. https://multiplesofamerica.org/add-on/

There are 33 ELITE clubs for our current membership year, listed on our website at: https://multiplesofamerica.org/elitestatusclubs/ Can we add to that number for the 2025-26 membership year? I think we can!
